Attorney Johanna Allex to Present on Special Needs Trusts for the Madison Public Library Foundation

The Madison Public Library Foundation will host Special Needs Trusts as part of an upcoming presentation in its virtual Educational Series from 12:00-1:00p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024.

Special needs trusts are set up for people with physical or cognitive disabilities to supplement benefits, such as Social Security, SSI, or Medicaid, without impacting their ability to receive those benefits. An effective special needs trust allows the beneficiary to continue receiving benefits from government programs while still receiving income from the trust. The Special Needs Trusts presentation will teach its audience how to leave gifts or bequests to loved ones with special needs, who requires a special needs trust, the types and benefits of special needs trusts, how to start the process of creating a special needs trust, and how to leave a gift to someone with a special needs trust.

Madison Public Library Foundation Educational Series events are free to attend. Registration is required; sign up to attend the Special Needs Trusts presentation here.
