On the Job

Attorney Amy Collins O’Hara’s Practice

Attorney Amy Collins O’Hara is a partner in Stafford Rosenbaum’s Madison office. Amy’s law practice focuses on families and children foremost, from emotional domestic matters to estate planning for her clients’ futures. Amy’s clients trust her to break down complicated legal concepts respectfully and to provide collaborative, cost-efficient service. Amy’s family law clients span all types of households, including unmarried parents and same-sex couples.

Amy believes it is her responsibility to represent her client’s interests compassionately, which is why she is a good fit for clients seeking to solve problems first and litigate as a secondary measure. She is outcome driven and, along with the Stafford Rosenbaum family law team, does her best to work cooperatively with opposing parties—but Amy supports her clients with experience in family law trial advocacy when the time comes.

Amy represents clients in a wide range of areas, including litigation and cooperative divorce actions; paternity actions; child custody, placement, and support actions; mediation and arbitration of custody and financial disputes; prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements; interstate child custody and child support litigation; and guardian ad litem appointments.

Outside of the office (but still on the job), Attorney Collins O’Hara mentors University of Wisconsin law students. Growing up in Madison fills Amy with pride and makes her not only relatable to local clients but gives her a unique understanding of what creates happiness and success for Wisconsin families. With a special interest in prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, Amy’s recent marriage brings her firsthand knowledge to supplement her professional practice.

Amy is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin. She has completed an intensive professional training program in the art of Family Law Advocacy Skills at The National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s American Bar Association Family Law Trial Advocacy Program.
