Attorney James Severson’s Practice
Attorney James C. Severson is a partner in Stafford Rosenbaum’s Madison office. His practice involves all aspects of family law, from traditional divorce and family cases with average assets to complex cases involving significant net worth and business interests. He provides thoughtful, creative solutions to individuals who may feel uncertain of their legal rights and the legal process, and he is well versed in representing individuals in divorces, as well as child custody, paternity, child support, and CHIPS matters across the state.
James takes pride in his ability to scour the fine print, footnotes, and details for his clients and guide them through life transitions that are often difficult. Patience and organization help him achieve satisfying results for his clients, which are what drive his practice. He enjoys finding solutions within convoluted cases, engaging with his network of trusted experts when necessary to advocate for his clients and help them determine their best interests.
James is also experienced with matters involving civil litigation, representing individuals and those in disputes with other individuals and small businesses; personal injury, helping those who have been injured in an accident; and criminal defense. Prior to joining Stafford Rosenbaum, James spent over a decade as an attorney at another Madison law firm.
James is admitted to practice in Wisconsin.
