Attorney Erin Rome’s Practice

Attorney Erin Rome is a partner in Stafford Rosenbaum’s Madison office, concentrating her practice on business, dealership, and employment litigation, and appellate law. Erin is an experienced trial attorney, having handled numerous jury trials and bench trials, along with other evidentiary hearings. Erin also routinely represents clients dealing with appeals, including appeals before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Some of Erin’s most recent successes include: obtaining a preliminary injunction in Milwaukee County Circuit Court to enjoin the defendant’s violation of a non-competition agreement; securing a settlement of over $1.2 million after filing a motion for preliminary injunction in federal court, alleging violations of the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law; negotiating settlements of over $1.84 million following contested arbitration proceedings alleging violations of the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law; and prevailing on an appeal before the Seventh Circuit, which resulted in the dismissal of a complaint seeking millions of dollars in damages for alleged business torts. Erin also routinely represents employers dealing with employment discrimination litigation before the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division and the Madison Equal Opportunities Division and has handled multiple contested hearings before these agencies, including obtaining dismissals of employment discrimination claims after contested hearings.

Erin is an active member of the Dane County community. Erin led the Dane County Bar Association’s Program Committee for several years, providing local lawyers with access to interesting and cost-effective legal programs. Erin also serves as the co-chair of the Marygold Melli Committee for the Legal Association for Women, which annually recognizes an outstanding attorney who has made contributions to women in the law.

Prior to joining Palmersheim Dettmann, which merged with Stafford Rosenbaum in November 2025, Erin served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable JoAnne Kloppenburg at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Off the Job

Outside of her legal work, Erin is an active volunteer for her sons’ school organizations. Having received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her undergraduate degree from Marquette University, Erin notes having the distinct advantage of being able to root for whichever NCAA basketball team is doing better in any given year.
