Attorney Katherine Tompson seeks election to Dane County Bar Association Director-at-Large position

Attorney Katie Tompson has been nominated and is running for the seat of Director-at-Large of the Dane County Bar Association. If elected, she will serve a two-year term. We enthusiastically urge all DCBA members to sign into their DCBA account and vote in the election, ending at midnight on Friday, June 7, 2024.

Katie is a senior associate in Stafford Rosenbaum LLP’s Madison office. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her law degree from Marquette University Law School (J.D., with Honors). Katie has a broad practice that includes family law, general civil litigation, business law, estate planning, and municipal prosecution.

Katie is a regular participant in Stafford Rosenbaum’s Family Law, Business, Trusts and Estates, and Litigation practice groups. She volunteers at a free legal clinic that Stafford Rosenbaum offers six times per year at Centro Hispano, and she regularly volunteers at the Family Law Assistance Center and the State Bar of Wisconsin’s LRIS Lawyer Hotline. Katie is in her third year with the Communications Committee for the State Bar, which includes reviewing and approving articles for Wisconsin Lawyer. She is also actively involved in Dane County Family Law Attorneys Group (DC FLAG).

Within Stafford Rosenbaum, Katie is a member of the firm’s DEI Committee, where she works with other attorneys and staff members to cultivate a welcoming workplace environment for all. In this role, Katie oversees the education and promotion of DEI-related holidays, celebrations, and events. She is also an active member of Stafford Rosenbaum’s Social and Wellness Committee, where she helps plan and coordinate the firm’s wellness challenge, step challenge, social events, and other events that promote good health and relationship building within the firm.

Katie has been an active participant in the DCBA since she joined the firm. She believes strongly in the DCBA’s mission, and she is running for the director-at-large position because she wants to take a more active role in furthering the DCBA’s goals. Katie genuinely enjoys connecting with fellow Dane County attorneys at various DCBA events, and she looks forward to encouraging new members to join, planning valuable educational opportunities for members, and seeking opportunities for members to engage in public service.

Outside of her legal work, Katie loves traveling abroad and domestically, and catching live music at one of the many music venues Dane County has to offer.
