Jeffrey A. Mandell, a partner in Stafford Rosenbaum LLP’s Madison office, has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a distinction reserved for only the top 1% of all American attorneys. The Fellows are legal professionals chosen for their exemplary dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. The American Bar Foundation (ABF) serves the legal profession, the public, and the academy through empirical research, publications, and programs, all advancing justice and the understanding of law, including its impact on society.

Jeff joins two other Stafford Rosenbaum LLP partners as Fellows of the ABF, Chris Hughes, managing partner, and Daphne Webb. Says Hughes: “The American Bar Foundation Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind recognition, reserved for the most experienced and influential attorneys across the country. Jeff’s commitment to studying and improving the law is second to none. Paired with his civic and community engagement, Jeff demonstrates dedication to others’ welfare and a highly principled practice.”

Jeff is a litigator with broad trial and appellate experience at both the federal and state levels. His diverse practice includes novel constitutional challenges, administrative law matters, and complex commercial litigation, as well as contract disputes, tort actions, property issues, and bankruptcies. He helped bring closure to the largest insurance rehabilitation in Wisconsin history and has led a Fortune 100 company’s team through the extensive remedial phases of a massive civil RICO case. He also has experience with class actions, trade-secret disputes, civil rights cases, patent litigation, and the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law.

Beyond his impressive practice, Jeff is active in the Madison community. He is the founding president of the American Constitution Society’s Madison Lawyer Chapter, which was recognized by the national organization as the 2018 Chapter of the Year. He serves on the editorial board for the American Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Journal and as a board member for the Western District of Wisconsin Bar Association. Outside of the legal community, Jeff serves on the boards of directors for both Madison’s Beth Israel Center and the Aldo Leopold Nature Center.

“We are thrilled to have another Stafford Rosenbaum attorney recognized by the American Bar Foundation. This is such an incredible achievement so early in Jeff’s career and he truly deserves it,” said Webb.
