Attorney Katie Harrell Elected Stafford Rosenbaum Managing Partner
Stafford Rosenbaum LLP is thrilled to announce that Attorney Katherine C. Harrell has been elected Managing Partner! Continuing her service on the firm’s five-member Board of Directors, Katie will serve this term through February 2027. During her previous term on the Board, Katie oversaw the firm’s human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
“Katie has demonstrated great initiative as a board member,” said James Egle, who Katie succeeds as Managing Partner. “She willingly takes on challenges, and without fail comes up with solutions. She is creative, intelligent, thoughtful, and energetic. We are very lucky to have her serve as Managing Partner as Stafford Rosenbaum continues to grow and prosper.”
Katie is a senior partner in the firm’s Madison office with a practice focused on family law. She has vast experience representing clients in divorce litigation, cooperative divorces, legal separations, child custody and placement matters, paternity, child support, and third-party visitation issues, and often serves as mediator for these legal issues, as well. Additionally, Katie is frequently appointed guardian ad litem in family law cases. She recognizes the challenges and vulnerability that comes with welcoming an attorney into your family life; to compensate for this, she has developed a thorough yet patient, cooperative yet assertive approach to help her clients through difficult times and to keep costly litigation at a minimum. She believes that light humor, a welcoming demeanor, and respect for others’ time are what builds strong relationships, in both her career and her personal life.
Katie graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2008 and joined Stafford Rosenbaum in 2016. She has been involved in the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for many years, helping to develop and expand Stafford Rosenbaum’s DEI Committee from its conception to the welcoming, inclusive, idea-generating, results-implementing working group that it is today. Katie is a Life Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, a Dane County Bar Association Pro Bono Community Partner Award recipient, a Wisconsin Law Journal Leader in the Law, a member and leader of many professional legal organizations, and a frequent writer and presenter on legal issues in the family law realm.
