Attorney Clementine Uwabera Elected Dane County Bar Association President
Stafford Rosenbaum LLP is thrilled to announce that Attorney Clementine Uwabera has been elected as the Dane County Bar Association’s next President-Elect, effective June 1, 2023. She will spend the next year shadowing the current DCBA President and officers and will begin her term as DCBA President on June 1, 2024.
Attorney Uwabera is a senior associate in Stafford Rosenbaum LLP’s Madison office. She was born in Butare, Rwanda and raised in Madison. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her law degree from Florida State University College of Law. She is a litigator and municipal prosecutor whose practice includes municipal defense, insurance defense, products liability, commercial disputes, personal injury, and wrongful death claims.
Clementine has served on the DCBA Board of Directors as its Membership and Special Events Chair since 2021. She is actively involved with ALFA International, the global legal network of which Stafford Rosenbaum is the Wisconsin member firm; within ALFA International, Clementine is a regular participant in its Future Leaders Forum and is a member of Business Litigation practice group. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Wisconsin Association for Justice. She also co-edited the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Litigation Forms Manual and co-authored the Wisconsin Bar Association’s chapter publication on Trade Secrets.
Clementine has been passionate about the DCBA since her return to Madison in 2020. She strove to drive new membership as its Membership Chair, because she believes in the DCBA’s mission, and she takes pride in helping to further its strategies that promote social and professional fulfillment among members. Clementine genuinely enjoys connecting with her peers at the various DCBA events, and she plans to utilize her role as DCBA President to ensure the organization’s present and future success and to continue to help develop its members’ legal careers.
Outside of her legal work, Clementine is a member of Downtown Madison, Inc. and the African Association of Madison, Inc. When taking a break from her leadership roles, she enjoys volunteering her time with other community organizations, traveling abroad and domestically with her husband, and playing on competitive sports leagues.
