Stafford Rosenbaum Attorney Doug Poland recognized on Appellate Law Powerlist by Wisconsin Law Journal

The power of collaboration is what Douglas Poland believes is the foundation for his numerous wins, believing there’s no such thing as a self-made, super-star lawyer.
Poland is a partner at Stafford Rosenbaum, with a focus on business, environmental, election and constitutional law, and a wealth of experience handling high-stakes cases in state and federal courts across the country. He co-chairs Stafford Rosenbaum’s Election and Political Law Practice Groups.
Poland played a key role in some of Wisconsin’s most impactful election law cases, including Gill v. Whitford before the U.S. Supreme Court and litigation extending absentee ballot deadlines during the 2020 election.
In 2020, Poland co-founded Law Forward with Jeff Mandell, a progressive non-profit aimed at defending Wisconsin’s democracy.
“In many ways, being able to submit briefs, stand up and argue in courts, appellate or otherwise, if you’re successful, you are going to increase the ability of people to participate in the work of democracy on the local, state and national level,” Poland said. “You’re basically helping to empower people who are feeling hopeless, powerless and unable to exercise the rights we all have under the state and federal constitution.”
