Stafford Rosenbaum LLP partner Meg Vergeront has been elected to be a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Labor and Employment Law Section Board as a management-side member. The Board functions to keep Bar members up-to-date on recent developments in labor and employment law and to provide them with opportunities to exchange information and opinions on legal issues.
Attorney Vergeront’s practice focuses primarily on employment, constitutional and property tax law. On the employment-law front, she helps private and public sector employers find common sense solutions to the day-to-day workplace problems they face, from hiring and firing and everything in between. When litigation is unavoidable, she also defends employers in federal and state forums against a broad range of claims, from harassment and discrimination claims, to wage and hour claims, to claims of union contract violations. Attorney Vergeront has been selected by peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America since 2010. She is also frequent author for Stafford Rosenbaum’s Employment and Labor blogs and is the co-author of the Wisconsin Family and Medical Leave Act chapter of the Wisconsin Attorney’s Desk Reference.
“Meg Vergeront is a leader in the employment law practice area, not just in Madison but throughout the State of Wisconsin,” said Stafford Rosenbaum LLP Managing Partner Christopher Hughes.
Attorney Vergeront’s term on the Labor and Employment Law Section Board will be for three years beginning on July 1, 2019. In this role, she will bring her expertise on labor and employment matters and use it to serve the Wisconsin State Bar’s members.
“Involvement and leadership like that of a section board member is important for both understanding the continuously changing nature of the law and for better allowing attorneys to serve their clients in their respective practice areas. I have no doubt Meg will serve the Labor and Employment Law Section Board beyond all expectations,” said Hughes.
