Congratulations to the Urban League’s Black Business Hub on its grand opening!
The Urban League of Greater Madison officially opens its Black Business Hub at 2352 S. Park Street in Madison on August 24, 2024, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 12:30pm, live music and entertainment for all ages, food and refreshments, and a celebration uniting our community. On this day, the Urban League will celebrate both the Black Business Hub Ribbon Cutting and the 10th Annual Unity Picnic. The Hub is a landmark project providing space, resources, and support for underserved entrepreneurs and businesses in our community. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature prominent speakers, including the President & CEO of the National Urban League, Marc Morial, along with Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski, Rep. Mark Pocan, Dane County Executive Jamie Kuhn, Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, and more.
The community picnic will include live performances from DJ M. White, Kinfolk, Yancyy, and Leotha Stanley, as well as delicious food from BP Smokehouse and Kipp’s Catering. There will also be the chance to meet Bucky Badger and play football with UW Badger athletes! In addition, various resources will be available, including a youth area with kids activities, informational booths, The Hub Marketplace, and more. There will be a variety of free giveaways, activities, and surprises to captivate and entertain kids and adults of all ages from start to finish.
A welcoming and uplifting place for community resources that reflects the Urban League’s values, the Hub is also a modern and impressive space conducive to productivity and collaboration.
