Daphne Webb, a senior partner at Stafford Rosenbaum, was among this year’s Wisconsin Law Journal’s Women in the Law recipients. Twenty-seven outstanding female members of the state’s legal community were honored at the event, which was attended by more than 375 people at Milwaukee’s Pfister Hotel.
Daphne, in private practice since 1973, is one of the few Wisconsin lawyers named in Woodward White’s The Best Lawyers in America for both Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She is regularly selected by her peers as one of the Wisconsin Top 50 Lawyers and one of the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Milwaukee Magazine’s Super Lawyer issue.
Daphne credits a portion of her success to the women who helped her along the way, such as Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson. “Shirley was great in providing advice,” Webb said. “I’m fortunate that I had her and other women attorneys help me out.” “Daphne has always appreciated the opportunities others have created for her and feels part of being a well-established attorney is creating opportunities for younger attorneys,” Managing Partner Christopher Hughes said. “As a senior partner at Stafford, Daphne is a role model for all of our attorneys because she is proof that, while not always easy, attorneys can attain professional recognition, raise a family and give back to the community.”
