May 28, 2013: The DNR will hold a public meeting to review the ambient air quality monitoring network. The DNR will review the changes that occurred in 2013 and will present an outline of proposed changes for 2014. An explanation will be provided for each deviation from the previous year’s plan as well as the proposed changes. Public comments on the changes will also be received at the informational meeting.

May 30, 2013: The DNR will hold a public meeting of the Air Management Study Group. DNR air management program staff will provide an overview of the program and members of the study group will discuss the group’s charter, priority topics, possible sub-groups and agenda for future meetings.

What to look for in the coming weeks: The DNR will be accepting public comments on draft revisions to guidance for implementing thermal water quality standards into WPDES permits. Revisions have been made to the chapters regarding effluent monitoring, temperature WQBELs for limited aquatic life and wetland discharges, dissipative cooling, alternative effluent limits for temperature and limits subject to drop. Comments are due June 21, 2013.
