Hearings and Meetings:
February 26, 2013: DNR hearing on air pollution control construction permit application submitted by WE Energies – Biomass-Fueled Cogeneration Facility, located at 200 Grand Avenue, Rothschild.
February 26, 2013: Senate Committee on Government Operations, Public Works, and Telecommunications public hearing on SB 35 relating to the procedure for certificates of public convenience and necessity and DNR permits for electric generating facilities and high-voltage transmission lines. The bill proposes to clarify when an application is deemed complete and eliminates the requirement to submit a detailed project plan to the DNR at least 60 days prior to filing the CPCN application.
February 26-27, 2013: Natural Resources Board meeting. The agenda includes request for adoption of revisions to chapters NR 700 to 754 regarding the investigation and cleanup of Brownfields and other contaminated properties and request for hearing authorization on revisions to chapter NR 150 regarding environmental assessment process.
February 27, 2013: DNR hearing on application for exemption from obtaining an Air Pollution Control Construction Permit to research and test the value of a preheater to a sand dryer operating in series submitted by Chieftain Sand and Proppant, LLC.
February 27, 2013: Assembly Committee on Natural Resources and Sporting Heritage public hearing for committee discussion on chapter NR 115, Shoreland Zoning Protection Program. No public testimony will be taken.
March 1, 2013: DNR hearing on air pollution control construction permit applications submitted by Calumet Superior LLC. Calumet Superior, LLC, 2407 Stinson Ave, Superior, submitted to DNR permit applications, including plans and specifications for construction and operation of removal of vacuum hot well gases from the crude unit heater and directing them to sour gas header and the addition of a steam/fuel ratio controller for the refinery flares to be conducted during the 2013 plant maintenance turnaround.
What to look for in the coming weeks:
March 19, 2013: Public Hearing on proposed rule revisions to ch. NR 211 regarding the pretreatment requirements for DNR, pretreatment programs of publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) and for industries discharging to POTWs.
