Richard Nordeng Named Madison’s Municipal Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers

Richard Nordeng has been named Best Lawyers' 2011 Madison Municipal Lawyer of the Year. Rich has over thirty years of experience in government law and is a recognized authority in municipal law. He has represented numerous municipalities and other public bodies, as well as private clients. Rich successfully handled a complicated lawsuit which won the right to incorporate as a city for the Town of Fitchburg after three appeals to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He also negotiated numerous complex boundary agreements for local governments, including the Town of Dunn, Town of Madison, Town of Blooming Grove and Town of Middleton.

Since 1986, he has authored the municipal law chapter in the State Bar of Wisconsin's Annual Survey of Wisconsin Law, a publication informing Wisconsin lawyers of the year's most significant legal developments.

Rich has lectured at the University of Wisconsin Law School on local government and municipal law.
